The Quinta enjoys a great location, being situated in a small, quiet village but close enough to two main cities – Braga and Vila Nova de Famalicao – to satisfy holiday-makers’ needs. The Quinta is close to many amenities. Less than 1km away is a market, bread shop, petrol station and two restaurants.

A car is highly recommended to explore the region. The Quinta enjoys a fantastic location, being close to the main tourist attractions in the North of Portugal, such as Guimaraes (where Portugal was founded) and Ponte de Lima (Portugal’s oldest town), both of which are only 35km away. Viana do Castelo is just 45km and great beaches such as Vila do Conde, Póvoa de Varzim and Esposende are all within 30 km. The Peneda-Geres National Park is within 45km and the North of Spain is 80km away.

Family friends who live in the Manor House would be happy to advise on local information such as walks and restaurants.

Nearest Airport: Porto Airport: 25km
Other Geographical facts: Braga: 9km; Guimarães: 17km; Porto: 35km

Description

Casa de Pedra is located on a traditional Quinta in the Minho region of Portugal. The Quinta dates back to the 18th Century and underwent a full restoration in the 1990s. It stands proudly on nine hectares of land and offers visitors a relaxing environment with its close proximity to fields, hills, trees and animals.

The Quinta is made up of granite stone, typical of the region, which is present both inside and outside the house, but can especially be seen at the small chapel, the large gate and in the pools and fountains.

Casa de Pedra has five bedrooms: three double bedrooms (two ensuite), one bedroom with three small beds (suitable for children) and one bedroom with a single bunk-bed (suitable for children). It therefore can sleep up to 10 people – 6 adults and 4 children. The house has a dining room, a lounge, a WC and a kitchenette.

The Quinta has two rental properties, both of which are attached to the main Manor House: Casa de Pedra, which sleeps up to 10 and Casa do Portao, which sleeps up to 6.

Visitors to Casa de Pedra can enjoy the use of the Quinta’s outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and tennis-table.

Notes: Breakfast is provided throughout your stay at Casa de Pedra, even though this is a self-catering property.
